Mission Statement

The Women in Health Sciences Committee has continuously worked to create professional development opportunities and increase equity for women on campus. In the future, they hope to further increase the visibility and awareness of the organization on campus and be recognized by campus leadership. The second goal is to enhance the collaboration with Equity, Diversity and Inclusion offices on campus and to strengthen partnerships with these offices through enhanced communication. Lastly, the committee hopes to increase the number of events that are put on each year in order to maximize resources provided by WIHS and expand the positive impact it has on women in the Health Sciences community at UC San Diego.

Goals

The goals of the Women in Health Sciences (WIHS) Committee are to promote faculty career development, enhance leadership skills of faculty and trainees through invited speakers and workshops, provide networking opportunities, and recognize the honors and accomplishments of women faculty at UC San Diego.
